According to Ghanaian singer Akwaboah, posting your success on social media does not make you a showoff. He encourages all to post their first-timers as often as they want in his new song, ‘Picture’, featuring Medikal.
“Those memories, sometimes when you post them on social and stuff, it’s not because you are trying to show off. You had a new job, you bought your first car, and you just gave birth for the first time. Some say it’s not good. But you are posting because you are grateful for having something for the first time. It’s not because you are trying to show off.”
Akwaboah also shared how excited he was when he bought his first car. He recounted having a sleepless night because he kept watching to see if it was still in his compound throughout the night.
Explaining his song, Akwaboah said, “So this is you posting a picture of something that you have for the first time, and people are criticising you for what you have. But this is something that you’ve done for the first time, and you want to let people know that you are good with this and happy about it. So post your picture.”
