From Fame to Shame: Popular MC Rashid Anaata Accused of Defiling 30 Children
Ahmed Rashid, popularly known as Anaata, a well-known MC in Wa, the capital of the Upper West region, is facing serious allegations of defiling 30 minors.
Reports from local media in Wa indicate that Anaata was initially arrested in 2014 but was released when unidentified individuals whisked away the victims.
Recently, the Wa police command reapprehended him following a complaint lodged by the Bahas foundation regarding sexual assault and the defilement of approximately 30 children.
The 35-year-old MC has been denied bail by the Wa circuit court. The presiding judge cited concerns about flight risk due to his previous departure from the jurisdiction.
The State Attorney is seeking a prison sentence of around 25 years for Anaata. However, on August 14th, the plaintiff refuted five of the allegations.
