Northern Region Records Decrease in Fire Outbreaks in First Quarter of 2023, But Road Accidents Claim Lives

The Northern Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service has released statistics for fire outbreaks and related incidents in the first quarter of 2023.

There were 106 fire outbreaks, a decrease of 36.53% compared to the same period in 2022.

However, there were unfortunately 3 lives lost through road traffic collision incidents, and one life lost through fire.

The cost of items salvaged from fires increased by 78.69%, indicating that more properties were saved.

Electrical faults, gas leakages, and unattended cooking were some of the causes of fires.

The public is urged to make positive changes to prevent fires and to contact the fire service in case of an emergency.
