How will the world recognise us if we fight each other? – Rocky Dawuni
2022 Grammy nominee Ghanaian Reggae sensation Rocky Dawuni has advised that the only way Ghanaian artistes can gain more world recognition is by avoiding competition and fighting among themselves. He urged them to stay together for a common purpose.
Rocky observed that the Ghanaian music industry is on a good trajectory. But until the habit of togetherness and standing in for one another is cultivated, the pendulum will never swing.

Davido marks 30th Birthday in silence, quietly
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido’s 30th birthday has passed in sombre reflection. The grieving father, who lost his 3-year-old son to a drowning incident this month, did not celebrate in his usual pomp and fanfare.
Yesterday, November 21, marked the 30th birthday of David Adeleke and had it not been for wishes from family, friends and fans, the day would have gone unnoticed.

The song is wack – Samini goes after official Black Stars song
Ghanaian dancehall musician Samini has called the official theme song for Black Stars chosen for the Ghana Black Stars’ campaign at the World Cup in Qatar as substandard of the talent pool in Ghana.
Kentos Music Band, with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, released the official cheer song for the Black Stars. King Promise also has his version with backing from Ghana Football Association.
Samini did not specify which of the songs he described as ‘bad’ but said that Ghanaians hate the truth because of political alignment. He continued to say that he was not being selfish as he had already hosted a few world cup theme songs for the Ghana Black Stars.

You are grateful, not a braggart – Akwaboah
According to Ghanaian singer Akwaboah, posting your success on social media does not make you a showoff. He encourages all to post their first-timers as often as they want in his new song, ‘Picture’, featuring Medikal.
“Those memories, sometimes when you post them on social and stuff, it’s not because you are trying to show off. You had a new job, you bought your first car, and you just gave birth for the first time. Some say it’s not good. But you are posting because you are grateful for having something for the first time. It’s not because you are trying to show off.”
