High-Profile Visitors Rally Behind Chef Failatu on Day 1 of Record-Breaking Cook-A-Thon

Day 2 of the cook-a-thon started at the 24th hour with over 40 meals prepared at the time of filling this report.

The chef took a couple of breaks, strictly following the guidelines set by the record awarding body. Failatu cooks for about six hours before embarking on any break, with each break lasting for 5 minutes. On day 1, Failatu went for approximately a 20-minute break.

At the wrap-up of day 1, here is the list of high-profile personalities that visited Modern City to support and encourage the Guinness World Record Longest cook contender:

1. Kwabena – the legendary highlife musician, made an unexpected visit to the venue directly from the Tamale International Airport as he landed from Accra. The multiple award-winning musician encouraged Failatu and asked for the support of Ghanaians to help Failatu break the record.

2. Haruna Iddrissu and Murtala – the Tamale South MP and former minority leader, accompanied by the Tamale Central MP, also visited the cook-a-thon to throw in their support.

3. Yaw Dabo – Actor and founder of Dabo Soccer Academy was in town and duly visited the venue in Modern City, calling on all Ghanaians to support Chef Failatu in breaking this important record and putting Ghana on the map.

4. Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Seidu Sanni, was at the venue to cheer Chef Failatu. He also represented the Vice President who made a donation of 30,000 GHC to support Failatu as she attempts to break the world record for the longest cook ever in mankind’s history.
