“I Write My Lyrics in the Washroom” – Muf Tee Reveals Unusual Songwriting Habit Ahead of Star EP Concert
Fast-rising Northern Ghana artiste shares unusual songwriting process as he rallies fans for debut headline concert in Tamale

Fast-growing Ghanaian musician Muf Tee has revealed an unconventional but deeply personal songwriting process, saying most of his lyrics come to him while he is in the washroom, not in a studio or locked room.
Speaking in an interview on DM TV, the artiste likened himself to “a pregnant woman,” explaining that inspiration strikes when he is alone in the bathroom, sometimes for hours. According to him, being naked and seated on the water closet gives him the freedom to think deeply, allowing lyrics to flow naturally.
Muf Tee said he finds it difficult to lock himself in a room to write songs, as it makes him uncomfortable and distracted. To make the most of his creative moments, he added that he always enters the washroom with a project in mind, hoping to come out with at least a few solid lines.
The interview largely focused on his forthcoming “Star EP Concert,” scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the King David Poolside in Tamale. The event will mark Muf Tee’s debut headline concert as a musician.
His Public Relations Officer, Qatada, also spoke during the interview, explaining that Muf Tee’s raw talent was the main reason he accepted to be part of the artiste’s management team. He said the quality of projects he heard convinced him that supporting the artiste was the right decision.
Qatada noted that his long-term goal is to push Muf Tee to a level where he can stand firmly on his own in the industry and handle his career independently.
When co-host Mr. Krouch asked about his achievements after 13 years in music, Muf Tee responded candidly, saying he does not consider himself successful yet. According to him, the only thing he can confidently point to is the small level of recognition he has gained over the years.
He described the upcoming concert as a turning point in his career, stressing that its outcome will determine his future standing in the music industry. The artiste appealed to music lovers in Tamale and surrounding communities to support him in large numbers, adding that he does not want to be let down on such a crucial night.
The interview was hosted by Naa Damba and Mr. Krouch.
Gate fee for the “Star EP Concert” has been pegged at GH₵100.
