Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Sherif Abdul Majeed, professionally known as Maccasio, has underscored the equal importance of fans and promoters in the growth of an artiste, stressing that one cannot thrive without the other.

Speaking in an interview on Face to Face on DM TV, hosted by Naa Damba and co-host Mr. Krouch, the celebrated rapper was asked to choose who he values more between promoters and fans. Maccasio declined to pick sides, explaining that both groups play complementary and irreplaceable roles in an artiste’s journey.

According to him, fans provide direct financial support by buying tickets and attending concerts, which sustains the career of a musician. He noted, however, that promoters are equally crucial, especially at the early stages of an artiste’s career, as they help introduce and sell the brand to the public before the music gains widespread recognition.

Maccasio further observed that the dynamics of influence have evolved, pointing out that some fans today command larger social media followings and stronger engagement than individuals officially recognized as promoters. He described this as a sign of changing times in the music business.

Using the opportunity, the rapper encouraged promoters in Northern Ghana to step up their professionalism by intentionally building their brands and strengthening their social media presence to remain relevant and impactful in the industry.

The interview formed part of media engagements ahead of his upcoming concert, dubbed the Landlord XPerience Live Concert, scheduled to take place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on February 14 2025.

Maccasio said the event is expected to further showcase the strong bond between artistes, promoters, and fans, which he believes remains the backbone of success in the music industry.
